There’s a bigger plan than you realise. God is writing a story and you have a vital part to play in His story. As you let God write your story, your story becomes History.
“God’s purpose in all this was to use the church to display his wisdom in its rich variety to all the unseen rulers and authorities in the heavenly places. This was his eternal plan, which he carried out through Christ Jesus our Lord.Because of Christ and our faith in him, we can now come boldly and confidently into God’s presence.” Ephesians 3:10-12
Two stories unfold with every story in the Bible –
The Lower Story is the one being written and told from a two metre perspective – a horizontal and linear viewpoint. The Upper Story is the one being written and told from above, from God’s perspective – a vertical, holistic viewpoint.
In the Lower Story we are dealing with things in the here and now – paying bills, dealing with conflict, getting over a cold, finding a job, winning a race, planning for the next day. The Lower Story is our Story. In the Upper Story we discover what God is up to; how He is weaving our story into his one divine love story. The Upper Story is God’s Story.
In 2014 we want connect more with God’s upper story. And it all starts by having faith in the grace and love of God for every person and believing that a life fully surrendered to Him and for Him becomes the life of purpose and of power. It’s the life of abundance in Christ that brings transformation to the world.
Jesus said :“I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance.” John 10:10 (amp)
We’re stepping up this year. Together we’re embarking on seven challenges, that have been strategically chosen to help us see God’s bigger plan and embrace it. Our challenges help us see life from a much larger perspective. As we do that, we are empowered by God to fulfill the call He has placed on every life. And as we do that, we will see His Church grow and expand and bring life and hope in ways we would never have imagined possible. Each challenge runs for 6 weeks- it takes 6 weeks to change a habit.
Our challenges help us grow personally in our relationship with God and they also link us as a community. We grow together, encouraging one another along the way. And then we dream together. We dream about how we can bring Heaven to Earth. Each one of us has a purpose not just to be here but to make history. And we’re designed to do that together.
